SS12 Le petit prince

On ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

“One sees clearly only with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye.” This quote is taken from the book Le petit prince written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. Anna Angseryd, founder and designer of Patouf, read this book for the first time as an adult while working on her ninth collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Still remembering it as being one of her all time favorites, she had a new understanding of the book and found it to have a strong impact on the making of this collection.

“Le petit prince makes several profound and idealistic observations about life and human nature,” says Anna Angseryd. “What I find inspiring is the poetic belief in the importance of friendship, altruism, love and imagination. I have tried to incorporate the feeling of that belief in my collection by using colors that have the feeling of the Sahara desert, tailored silhouettes with strong shoulders and a boyish charm.”
